Job Description

• Within our department “Molecular Technologies & Stem Cell Therapy” you will support projects in the field of hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) therapy.
• You will assist in the development of innovative products and the automation of GMP-compliant processes using the CliniMACS Prodigy platform for HSC gene therapy.
• You will optimize protocols for viral and non-viral gene transfer into HSCs as well as characterize gene engineered HSCs through flow cytometry and other analytical techniques.
• You will be responsible for planning and executing experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the overall project strategy.
• This position offers you an unique opportunity to obtain your Master’s degree while staying abreast of the latest developments in genetic engineering and cellular therapies.

Qualifications

• You are currently enrolled as a student and completing a degree (Bachelor's / Master's) in the field of biology, molecular sciences, immunology, or related field.
• You are experienced in cellular & molecular techniques such as cultivation of primary cells, flow cytometry or PCR. Experiences with gene editing, gene delivery methods or hematopoietic stem cells are a plus.
• You are well organized, flexible, and conscientiously document your laboratory results.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English as well as a structured way of working round off your profile.

Additional Information

• Your workplace will be in Bergisch Gladbach.
• The position is limited to 18 months with 24 hours a week and the option to conduct a Master thesis afterwards.
