We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Working Student to join our CPC department in Bremerhaven for 20hrs of work weekly. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the logistics and cargo management industry while supporting our team in executing daily tasks efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities:
* Coordinate authority scans, physical checks, and general inspections for transshipment, import, and export cargo in the port.
* Report to relevant authorities as required.
* Notify respective departments about stops for containers ordered for scanning by customs.
* Investigate reasons for non-loading status and resolve issues through close communication and coordination with various departments and stakeholders.
* Conduct proactive veterinarian control and arrange CVED issues as needed.
* Prevent cost overruns, regulatory breaches, and customer dissatisfaction.
* Improve revenue from demurrage and detention by controlling and improving delivery patterns for import, export, and transhipment containers.
* Coordinate operations and interact with authorities for Maersk Cargo within the port, including fumigation and cargo additional approval for certain IMO/Special types.
* Handle ad-hoc requests from internal and external stakeholders around cargo-related matters.
* Monitor and coordinate local handling of break-bulk and OOG cargo, including interactions with external stakeholders.
* Provide commercial and operational input to break-bulk bookings to customer service.
* Execute full container damages by coordinating safe cargo handling between stakeholders.
* Third-party tracing for cost recovery.
* Oversee end-to-end processes and ensure quality output while meeting customer needs.
* Identify and suggest continuous improvement possibilities in the ways of working.
* Check optimization possibilities in the team
Requirements:
* Currently enrolled in a university or college program.
* Strong communication and coordination skills.
* IT knowledge to help with optimizations
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Knowledge of the logistics and cargo management industry is a plus.
* Fluency in English and German languages.
