Are you looking for a working student position, a specialist internship or a student thesis (Master's, Diploma) in the field of the future of our mobility? Among other things, we offer you the opportunity to work on the topic of "Eddy current losses in permanent magnets of electrical machines".

Your Tasks:

• Research into models and correction methods for magnetic losses, in particular with regard to magnetic segmentation and frequency dependence
• Comparison of the methods found with regard to practical suitability, boundary conditions, general validity, etc.; selection of some promising approaches for further investigation
• Design of FEM models for exemplary investigation
• Calculation of models in 2D FEM and correction of magnetic losses
• Validation on 3D FEM calculations
• Investigation of different feeding methods (sinusoidal current, PWM), magnet sizes, positions and segmentations, specific conductivities of the magnet

Necessary Skills:

• Ongoing studies in electrical engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering or similar engineering courses, e.g. specializing in energy, drive, vehicle or automation technology, as well as physics or mathematics
• Systematic and independent way of working, good basic technical knowledge and a high level of commitment and creativity
• Interest in challenging development tasks

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of magnetic FEM calculations, a CAD environment and Matlab/Python 
• Basic knowledge of the operation and design of electrical machines 
• English language skills at B1 level
