Our project aims at the development of a novel therapy for autoimmune liver diseases, using an innovative medical product that increases the liver’s capability to suppress specific immune responses. The research focus will be on investigating in detail the mode-of-action of the novel therapy, using advanced immunological, as well as cell and molecular biological methods in vitro and in vivo. This work will advance the clinical translation of this novel therapeutic approach for autoimmune liver diseases for which the existing treatments are insufficient. This immunological and translational project is funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, and will be conducted in collaboration with an academic partner abroad.
Your duties include:
- conception, execution, analysis and documentation of experiments
- literature review
- scientific writing and presentation
The duration of employment is 3 years, with possibilty for extension. The position is to be filled with 65 % of the weekly working hours.
- Final degree in biology, life sciences or comparable science (diploma, master, or equivalent)
- Sound immunological and cell biological skills and knowledge
- Preferably, immunological experience
- High interest in basic research, appreciating interdisciplinary cooperation with international cooperation partners, ability to work independently as well as a part of an interdisciplinary research group
- Communication skills in German or English
