About Us:
The RASP team is a research division within Dolby’s Cloud Solutions group. The RASP acronym stands for “Resource Agnostic Swarm Processing”, which describes the focus of this team. We are looking for a passionate and talented Software Engineer Intern to join our dynamic team and contribute to our cloud project.
Role Overview:
As a Software Engineer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working on cloud and media processing technologies. You will work independently on research tasks related to cloud computing, transcoding, or machine learning. This role is ideal for students with an interest in such fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent research on cloud-based media processing technologies and processes.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for research prototypes and proof-of-concepts.
- Explore and implement machine learning techniques to optimize project related processes.
- Analyze and report findings from your research to the team.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in media processing and analysis, cloud computing, and machine learning.
Key Requirements:
- Written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language; proficiency in Node.js or C/C++ is preferable.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Interest in technologies related to cloud computing, media processing, or machine learning.
- Ability to think critically and solve technical challenges efficiently.
- Ability to work independently on research tasks and manage time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with RESTful API development.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Basic understanding of media codecs and formats.
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts.
