Working student position in the XR Forge - Digitalization start-up factory from October 2024

What are we doing?

Everyone is talking about digitalization, but for us it has long been part of everyday life. In the Digital Engineering department of the Mercedes-Benz start-up factory, we ensure the buildability of all new Mercedes-Benz vehicles right from the digital phase. We get involved in the development process at an early stage and support concept development on the basis of experience from previous model series and defined concept standards - even before the first hardware is built.

The Digital Mock-Up team accompanies and supports the development of prototypes with a focus on the digital phases. The team is also responsible for the optimization and further development of processes and methods as well as the implementation of the latest digital technologies in the start-up factory. You will face these challenges, among others

• Collaboration in the introduction of the Extended Reality Service
• Testing and application of new VR/AR/XR technologies
• Supporting the ARea50-3 and XR forge
• Organization and implementation of workshops and center events
• Design of communication documents / processes
• Task tracking for digitalization initiatives and working groups

• Degree in engineering, industrial engineering, computer science or a comparable field of study
• Interest in the field of "IT 4 Production", in particular VR/AR/XR, PDM and CAD
• Confident written and spoken German and English skills
• Commitment and ability to work in a team
• Analytical mindset and strategic way of working
