Working student position in the field of digitization cost engineering from October 2024

Research and development at Mercedes-Benz offers an insight into a wide range of disciplines. As the interface between Development and Purchasing, we are tasked with evaluating development projects in order to translate the technical requirements of Development into costs for the company. This offers opportunities to come into contact with different facets of research and development at Mercedes-Benz. It is important to develop the appropriate overview in order to correctly classify topics in your costs. In the course of this activity, data on the development projects and the orders based on them are also generated. This data is managed in our cloud environment. The potential of this data needs to be explored.

These are some of the challenges you will face:

• Data exploration
• Feasibility studies for selected data evaluations
• Preparing and presenting information
• Preparing reporting dashboards
• Creating automated processes to improve data quality
• Specification of work packages
• Internal organization and support of cost engineering activities

In cooperation with various internal departments, we offer an exciting and diverse student trainee position with varied and responsible tasks.

• Degree in engineering, computer science, data science, business informatics, or comparable courses of study (electrical engineering and information technology, mathematics, statistics, etc.)
• Knowledge of Python, SQL, Microsoft PowerBI, Databricks, Microsoft Azure, DataScience and statistics
• Confident handling of MS Office
• Confident written and spoken German and English skills
• Commitment and ability to work in a team
• Analytical way of thinking
• Curiosity in the field of data processing and interest in the automotive environment
• Structured way of working
• Interest in increasing efficiency
• Communication and presentation skills
