As a premium development service provider for the automotive industry, among others, we are involved in numerous projects in the development of autonomous driving functions for vehicles of the future. For our customers, we develop AI-based models and functions in all areas necessary for the implementation of an autonomous driving vehicle based on a wide variety of data: 

• Sensor data processing/perception, e.g. recognition of road surfaces and road conditions, object detection and classification, lane recognition, etc.
• Interpretation of intention and prediction, e.g. of pedestrians, cyclists or other road users
• Planning, e.g. the trajectory to be travelled
• Plan execution, e.g. vehicle control

Your Tasks:

Your task in this exciting and challenging internship with us is to implement an automated evaluation framework for various AI models in the field of perception in our own high-performance computing cluster or in the AWS/Azure Cloud.

Focus of the internship:  

• Familiarisation with the IAV development environment and procedures
• Concept development for the construction and further development of an automated framework for evaluating our own AI models in the field of environment perception
• Implementation and testing of software components of the evaluation framework in Python or C/C++
• Visualisation and presentation of your results and findings
• Documentation

Following the internship, you will also have the opportunity to write your final thesis. 

Necessary Skills:

• You are studying computer science, engineering, mathematics or a comparable STEM degree programme
• You have practical experience in programming with Python and/or C/C++
• You speak English and/or German very well
• You have practical experience in the field of AI / machine learning
• You want to learn and develop every day
• You want to take responsibility with your work and make a contribution
• You are reliable and work in a structured and independent manner
