This includes lateral AlGaN/GaN HEMTs, vertical GaN MOSFETs and diodes, as well as GaN-based MEMS, sensors and microelectronic devices, and the development and adaptation of processes for the reliable production of these.
What you will do
- Further development and use of measurement setups for the (semi-)automatic characterization of GaN devices at wafer level
- Further development of laboratory setups for application-specific characterization of devices( from circuit diagram to fulfillment of technical specifications), including troubleshooting and debugging
- Data analysis and preparation of subsequent characterization reports
- Design of parameterizable GaN-based devices using open-source EDA software
- Adaptation and development of a GaN PDK, including the integration of DRC and LVS methods for manufacturing in our post-CMOS cleanroom
- Further development and design of test structures and measurement specifications for the in-line characterization of novel devices during production
- Conceptualization and simulation of novel devices using TCAD
- Support in the processing of work packages from forward-looking research projects with various internal and external actors from industry and research
- Documentation and communication of results
What you bring to the table
- Bachelor's degree and ongoing Master's program at a German university in physics, electrical engineering, materials science, or a comparable discipline
- Ideally, experience in the characterization of semiconductor processes
