Who we are and what we do:
We in the Team Data, Analytics & AI aim to put our customers at the center of our work. Currently, we are developing the next generation of our global parts pricing system in the cloud to natively integrate automation and data-driven decision-making processes. To that end, we are building data products through connecting various data sources as well as building state of the art cloud-based data processing pipelines. Furthermore, by harnessing data from our global workshop network, we continuously improve our customers' service experience, make strategic business decisions, and effectively steer various After-Sales processes. To make this happen, we work in self-organized, interdisciplinary, and agile teams with IT and business colleagues.
Things you will do:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and ensure data quality
- Participate in monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving data processing issues
- Contribute to and support our product teams in the design and development of new data products. Embrace data mesh principles to ensure data quality and smooth data exchange, thereby enhancing the underlying architecture of our data platform
- Bring in your own ideas into the design of new or improved data products and transform them into end-to-end proof-of-concept solutions in the cloud
- Contribute to the creation of comprehensive, easy-to-follow technical documentation
- Organize communication with our stakeholders and support the documentation of our data products
- Support with the management, maintenance and requirements engineering of our applications as well as create and enhance communication material

- Innovation and Creativity: By bringing in your own ideas and transforming them into end-to-end proof-of-concept solutions, you'll cultivate your creative thinking and innovation skills, crucial in the field of data and software product development
- Cloud Computing Competencies: Developing proof-of-concept solutions in the cloud will help you gain experience in cloud environments and services, an essential skill in today's digital landscape
- Technical Writing Proficiency: Contributing to comprehensive, easy-to-follow technical documentation will develop your technical communication skills, aiding you in clearly conveying complex information
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field with a focus on data or software engineering. You must be enrolled as a student at least until the last planned day of your internship
- Strong English proficiency
- Experience with one or more programming and scripting languages (Python and SQL are of advantage, Go is a nice-to-have)
- Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team as well as independently
It helps if you are interested / have some background in:
- Knowledge of software development principles
- Data modeling, schema design, and data normalization techniques
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
- Understanding of cloud-based storage (e.g., S3, Azure Data Lake) and big data processing technologies (e.g., AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Databricks) for scalable and efficient data workflows
- First experience with agile frameworks like Scrum and knowledge of data mesh principles
- Interest in data visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or Qlik
- Interest in real time data delivery technologies
