What will you be doing?
Experience Designers are responsible for the design of digitally enabled products and services. They use a blend of skills across interaction, visual and service design to work on holistic solutions, from early-stage idea generation to detailed design of features for a digital product. Although a balanced skillset is key to the role, some Experience Designers may be stronger on the visual side and others may be stronger on the interaction or service side.
As an Experience Design Intern, you will support teams on client-facing and internal projects. You will learn by doing, with guidance from experienced practitioners, who will help you understand and deliver the experience design activities assigned to you, in the context of interdisciplinary projects.
Project teams rely on Experience Designers to:
- Define digital product and service experience concepts in collaboration with the strategy and technology teams
- Execute the detailed design of defined experiences, working across service components, interaction models and visual language expression
- Enable a successful handover of final outcomes to the client through training and documentation
On a typical project you will support activities including:
- Understand goals, business requirements and user needs to help define opportunity areas and experience requirements
- Conduct and synthesise research, such as foundational interviews or usability tests with both enterprise users and end-customers
- Create frameworks such as customer journeys, service blueprints or ecosystem maps based on inputs from research
- Create digital product or service concepts that address top opportunity areas and push the bar for quality in a given field/industry
- Design user flows, sitemaps, wireframes, screen mock-ups and prototypes to illustrate product behaviour along defined used cases
- Create or apply existing design language systems (brand principles, typography, color, UI components, layout, etc) in an accurate and visually-impactful way
- Design brand identities and brand collateral
- Create visual narratives (decks, videos, etc) that tell the story of the work
- Document product/service requirements and guidelines for implementation
We want you to have:
- Recently completed, or will complete within 1 year, a university degree in Interaction Design, Visual Communications, Human Computer Interaction, or a related design or behavioural science discipline
- A robust practical and theoretical grounding in experience design through your studies and professional experience
- Well-developed craft and core design skills, demonstrated in your portfolio of recent work
- Proficiency with contemporary design and prototyping tools, including Figma
- Willingness to quickly learn and grow your design skills on the job
- Ability to present and clearly explain your work to others
- Experience collaborating in multifunctional teams
- Affinity with frog’s values, including a passion for creating products that meet peoples’ functional and emotional needs
- Business level fluency in English and German
It would be a bonus if you had:
- Illustration, motion design or video editing skills
- Experience working in a variety of organisations (start-up, corporate, agency/consultancy)
- Academic, professional, or life experience from outside the design field that enriches your perspective as a designer
Application Instructions
- As part of your application, please include a link or PDF of your portfolio of recent work, highlighting your abilities and experience relevant to the role, with specific examples of how you work, think, collaborate, and contribute to great design outcomes. Please note that we are unable to accept any applications without a portfolio.
Please note:
- Applicants should be available for six months.
