Your tasks


Shaping, questioning, accepting challenges

As a trainee in the field of Institutional Clients in Frankfurt, you will be supporting relationship managers for banks, central banks, and finance ministries in Emerging Markets. The relationship managers are responsible for customer relationships and sales of cash management, trade finance and capital market products, as well as bilateral and syndicated loans, in coordination with the respective product units. 

During your traineeship your tasks will include the preparation of client presentations, cross-product analysis of client sales and revenue potential, execution of transactions and follow-ups of client meetings – which you will also participate in. Together with the relationship managers, you will act as primary contact for customer enquiries and support them in managing their client portfolio, including the allocation of credit lines and KYC processes. Your responsibilities will also include Data Science and Smart Automation, analyzing data to identify client needs and increasing efficiencies in the team's daily business.

Naturally, as part of your trainee training, you will also have stays in product departments of investment banking, commercial banking, credit, compliance as well as representative office management.

Depending on your level of professional development, you could also gain valuable experience abroad.

Your profile


  • Master's degree in finance or other relevant fields.
  • Strong communication skills, high social competence, and intercultural adaptability.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, creative and innovative thinking.
  • Ability to take ownership of short- and long-term projects, work to deadlines and take the initiative.
  • Prior exposure to sales /relationship units in the banking / finance industry through internships,
  • Fluent English skills as well as other languages such as French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese; knowledge of German is desirable, but not necessary.
