Job Summary
Support the origination and execution related activities of the Client Coverage team members in SCB AG.
Key Responsibilities
- Get to know the Bank and relevant stakeholders through our comprehensive induction sessions.
- Gain valuable practical experience with on-the-job and general training sessions.
- Participate in our exclusive speaker series featuring presentations by senior management and engagement with executive management.
- Expand your network by collaborating closely within the CCIB business function and across other divisions.
- Get involved in impactful community service initiatives.
Strategy
- Support the origination of new business opportunities
- Analysis of the clients, preparation of relevant statistics
- Actively contribute toward executing the Global Coverage Strategy and develop client level strategic initiatives to support the business growth aspirations.
- Support on the implementation of the client strategy for the designated portfolio as identified through the account planning process
Business
- Support the Client Managers, ARMs and bankers to originate new business and grow the franchise
- Support the bankers to ensure the quality of their dialogue with clients. Support in anticipating clients’ needs.
- Support on analysis on how the client landscape regionally / globally is changing and where areas of international growth lie
- Start developing industry and product knowledge and do analysis on the developments of the sectors in which our clients operate
Processes
- Proactively support the coverage team in their day-to-day job
- Learn about how:
- Risks are appropriately identified and managed
- The client portfolio is managed in line within the regulatory environment, keeping up to date with applicable changes and Group policies with ability to contribute to policy formation
- Key regulatory risks and concerns are raised into the governance framework and managed appropriately
- All sales disciplines are adhered to in accordance with Corporate and Investment Banking standards
People & Talent
- Start learning how coverage functions are working and use the resources available to get a deeper insight and position for a potential graduate role
Risk Management
- Adhere to the risk standards and learn how Coverage:
- engages Risk and Legal & Compliance as appropriate to escalate items relating to Risk Management
- Ensures that origination is carried out within the Group’s risk appetite and reputational and credit risks are appropriately managed in conjunction with other stakeholders
Governance
- Adherence to all SCB AG and Group policies and relevant legislation covering credit risk, operational risk, and reputational risk among others · Commitment to Group code of conduct ·
- Ensure to have timely completion of all e-Learning, attestations and requests for information. Be complaint with block leave requirements
Regulatory & Business Conduct
- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Qualifications
- EDUCATION - Studies in the field of Finance, Economics, etc.
- LANGUAGES - German language knowledge is helpful, but not mandatory. Fluency in English is required.
