Student Assistant Array signal processing for ISAC
Jetzt bewerbenStellenbeschreibung
Future. Discover. Together.
The Wireless Communications and Networks department of the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute participates in the development of new technologies for the next generation wireless communication systems. The Signal and Information Processing (SIP) group participates in national and international research projects, addressing relevant topics in the fields of signal processing for mobile communications and radar systems. We are looking for motivated student assistants to participate in the development of signal processing algorithms for multi-antenna systems for integrated sensing and communication (ISAC). This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in advanced signal processing and waveform design, while contributing to cutting-edge research in ISAC systems. For highly-motivated students, this work can provide an opportunity to develop a BSc/MSc thesis. Be a part of our team and come on a journey of research and innovation!
What you will do
Use an existing simulator to analyze the performance of a beampattern synthesis and waveform design method developed in our group
Asses the performance for various propagation scenarios
Extend the simulator to support arbitrary antenna array geometries
Modify the simulator to take the quantization effects in digital-to-analog converters (DACs) into account
What you bring to the table
Full-time student status at a German university with good grades, in the fields of electrical engineering, communications engineering, or similar
Interest in radar and communication signal processing
Mathematical maturity with strong grasp of linear algebra and statistics
Familiarity with antenna array signal processing methods
Proficiency in Python programming
Ability to understand and implement algorithms from academic papers
Furthermore, desirable are:
Good understanding of convex optimization methods
What you can expect
Fascinating challenges in a scientific and entrepreneurial setting
Attractive salary
Modern and excellently equipped workspace in central location
Great and cooperative working atmosphere in an international team
Opportunities to write a master's or bachelors thesis
Flexible working hours
Opportunities to work from home
The position is initially limited to 12 months. An extension is explicitly desired.
