At Stora Enso Packaging Solutions (PS), we are in process of harmonizing the sourcing process across all PS Europe locations. We are now opening up opportunities to write a master thesis with us – Join us to explore synergies and differences and contribute to our continuous improvement efforts!

As a part of this project, your main responsibility will be to identify opportunities for improving process efficiency. This includes assessing the number of transactions, streamlining the speed of the process, and enhancing yearly planning. Additionally, we are looking for innovative thinkers who can suggest cost-efficient IT tools and explore the potential usage of AI to automate and streamline our sourcing processes. To ensure continuous improvement, we need someone who can study on e-Tendering platform solutions in Europe. Your insights will be crucial in determining how we can successfully implement these platforms within our organization. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to provide valuable input to improvement opportunities and offer solutions to close any existing data gaps in spend categorization.
To execute the project, you will collaborate with the PS Sourcing team, conduct interviews with stakeholders to understand their expectations for sourcing, and perform a gap analysis of the sourcing process in different PS mills.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a significant transformation while gaining valuable experience in sourcing. We are offering this master thesis topic, and after agreeing with your supervisor, you will together plan and design all parts of the project to suit you, Stora Enso, and your school. In this project, we would like you to work with a thesis partner for the best possible results and support from us.
For this position, we expect you to be able to plan your time and work both from home and at one of our offices, with additional visits to our factories. You will belong to the Packaging Solutions division. The project will be executed during the spring semester of 2025, from January to June. Please note that specific guidelines and regulations should be consulted for accurate information regarding credit point allocation, e.g. in Sweden this project consists of 30 HP (Swedish college credits).

Who are we looking for?
We believe that you are studying in the last year of your master's program at an university within a relevant field such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related. You are fluent in English.
