New types of interfaces are constantly emerging that allow users to interact with systems in a more intuitive, immersive or simply different way. Our goal is to try out such innovative methods and interfaces and determine their benefits for SICK AG. This includes the development of concepts in which such interfaces can be used sensibly, their implementation and evaluation. The thesis can focus on individual areas. We welcome the contribution of your own research questions.

YOUR TASKS:

• You will research scientific studies and best-practice examples of the application of novel user interfaces in companies or industry
• You have the opportunity to choose the focus of your work variably, for example on immersive interfaces (virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality), voice interfaces, gesture interfaces or the personalization of interfaces with generative AI
• You will develop and evaluate concepts for the use of such approaches at SICK AG
• You carry out an empirical study or a technical implementation according to your specialist background
• You develop recommendations for action

YOUR PROFILE:

• You are studying psychology, cognitive science, digital humanities, interaction design, computer science or a comparable degree program  
• You have initial experience with the topics of UX design, usability or human-centered design
• You have experience with innovative user interfaces or the associated methods/tools
• You are interested in human-centered issues and developments and in developing new approaches to solutions  
• Ability to work independently and think creatively
• Your strong teamwork and communication skills round off your profile
