The Position
Your Department & Team:
Roche’s Gene Therapy Technical Development function (PTCG) is responsible for the technical development and clinical production of breakthrough viral vector-based therapies from early clinical phase to market approval. Our core business is the development of safe, innovative and effective therapies using state-of-the-art technologies for the entire value chain. There you will join an expert team in the area of Plasmid Sciences and Manufacturing for development and production of plasmid DNA as a key element and starting material for gene and cell therapy.
Your Tasks & Responsibilities:
You will support the development of novel plasmid formats as starting material for viral vector based therapies including independent execution of experiments as well as data interpretation and documentation.
You will also contribute to the development and implementation of new cutting-edge technologies and methods for molecular cloning and host cell engineering.
Data interpretation and presentation of your findings to the group will also be part of your responsibilities.

You are passionate about science and are currently studying biotechnology, molecular biology, cell biology or any other relevant life-science subject. Being enrolled at university is a formal requirement for the internship. During your studies, you already gained hands-on experience in molecular biology (molecular cloning techniques, DNA preparation & isolation, PCR methods and work with microbial cell cultures). Good skills in English, both spoken and in writing, alongside experience in working in a highly enthusiastic, agile and cross-functional team complete your profile.
