At CARIAD, we're bundling and further expanding the Volkswagen Group's software expertise. We’re uniting over 6,500 global experts to build a scalable technology stack, including a software platform, unified electronic architecture and reliable connection to the automotive cloud. Our CARIDIANS are developing vehicle functions such as driver assistance systems, a next-generation infotainment platform, power electronics and charging technology, and digital services in and around the vehicle.
Our software can already be found in Volkswagen ID. models and will soon power Audi and Porsche vehicles with the E3 1.2 platform in 2024.
It's no easy task, but with experts like you, we can shape the future of mobility. Join us at CARIAD and be part of this exciting journey!
YOUR MISSION
Our "Virtual ECU Simulation" team is seeking for a working student to contribute the integration of an GenAI-based solution into the embedded software development process. The focus will be on optimizing CI/CD pipelines and/or interactive environments. Additionally, you will assist with maintaining and further developing an AI application aimed at analyzing and diagnosing software issues in embedded systems.
Our team is developing virtual prototypes, which are software models of automotive ECUs. These prototypes enable the execution and testing of embedded software as-is in a white-box environment, allowing for easy inspection of every hardware and software detail. This approach simplifies error injection, bridges constraints related to physical and logistical factors and scales the CI/CD process.
Collaborate with us and you will gain an insight on AI, embedded systems while leaving an impact on the quality and efficiency of the software powering our vehicles. Take this opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge AI technologies within the automotive industry.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GenAI solutions into existing CI/CD pipelines or create new interactive setups
- Maintain and enhance an existing GenAI application used to diagnose and analyze software issues in embedded systems
- Support the ongoing optimization of AI algorithms and ensure the smooth functioning of the AI engine within the software development lifecycle
- Contribute to software testing and validation in the context of the whole embedded ecosystem (not only AI related)
- Document processes, results, and updates for internal teams and stakeholders
WHO YOU ARE
- Enrolled student in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or a equivalent field
- Demonstrated interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and software development in embedded systems
- Basic experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git, Jenkins, etc.)
- Familiarity with Python programming, including experience working with AI/ML frameworks
- Self-driven with strong analytical skills and a collaborative mindset
- Proficient in English, German is a plus
