At CARIAD, we're bundling and further expanding the Volkswagen Group's software expertise. We’re uniting over 6,500 global experts to build a scalable technology stack, including a software platform, unified electronic architecture and reliable connection to the automotive cloud. Our CARIDIANS are developing vehicle functions such as driver assistance systems, a next-generation infotainment platform, power electronics and charging technology, and digital services in and around the vehicle.
Our software can already be found in Volkswagen ID. models and will soon power Audi and Porsche vehicles with the E3 1.2 platform in 2024.
It's no easy task, but with experts like you, we can shape the future of mobility. Join us at CARIAD and be part of this exciting journey!
YOUR TEAM
Our “Vehicle Motion” team is seeking a motivated Master Thesis student to focus on the Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) concept through platform-independent software generation and custom middleware coupling. You will be collaborating with one of our PhD student in addressing the following research question: What are the differences between code generators for platform-independent C code output and how can the generated application software integrate with runtime middleware?
We are a group of passionate engineers and talented PhD students, all dedicated to developing cutting-edge software for automotive chassis applications. Together we're driving innovation in the automotive industry, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in vehicle dynamics and control systems
Join our team and take this opportunity to gain hands-on experience with production C code generated by our internal toolchain. You will explore the capabilities of various code generators available on the market, utilizing metrics such as memory usage, runtime performance, and other code quality parameters.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Conduct extensive literature and market research on state-of-the-art C code generators for automotive software applications
- Generate platform-independent application software in C using selected code generators
- Implement middleware signal communication semantics using open-source and internal tools
- Implement an API for integration of application software with middleware
- Present the results and framework in a scientific paper
WHO YOU ARE
- Enrolled student in the field of Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field
- Knowledgeable in Model-Based Software Development and MATLAB tools, such as Embedded Coder
- Proficient in C programming
- Experience in middleware, such as AUTOSAR Run-Time Environment (RTE) based communication types, is a plus
