About You and this role
We are looking for you, an ambitious master’s student (d/f/m), to support our Dow Chlor-Alkali business by conducting an internship project and Master’s Thesis in Diaphragm Development and Improvement for our location in Stade, Germany.

Project description
We would like to offer an intern position to support our ongoing diaphragm material development for the Dow chlorine electrolysis cells. The tasks include understanding of the current status, followed by developing and improving the diaphragm components and the production process. The project will start with lab scale testing and subsequent large scale production and intermediate scale operation in the chlorine plant in Stade. Focus of the work will be design and schedule of experimental testing, quality parameter definition and evaluation as well as online monitoring of the operation. Responsibilities will be cross-departmental coordination with lab technicians, production/improvement engineers as well as subject matter experts of the technology and time-driven execution of the project scope.

Qualifications
- You are currently studying for a master's degree or equivalent in Chemistry/Chemical or Process Engineering or related Material Science subjects
- You have a good working knowledge of English and German
- Laboratory skills, knowledge about Chlor-Alkali technology and experience in chemical industry are a benefit

- You can start between January and March 2025 for a period of 4 to 6 months (exact timing is flexible and to be discussed).
