What is this program about?
Interactive Media brings together computer science, media technology and creative design. Whether it's apps, games, websites or smart-home interfaces — you learn to make digital experiences that are not only functional, but also intuitive, immersive and engaging. With this Master’s you dive deep into media design, media tech, human-computer interaction, game design, 3D media, AI-based media, and more to shape the digital future.

Duration: Full-time = 4 semesters; Part-time = 6 semesters (or flexible)

Admission Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (≥ 180 ECTS) with a media- or computer-science/media-design background; submission of a project portfolio; proof of English proficiency (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS).
What will you learn?
You’ll study and work on:

Interaction design (2D & 3D spaces), human–computer interaction, user experience.

Game design & development, VR/AR environments, real-time 3D media, sensor-based and gesture interfaces.

Generative design, AI for media, computer graphics, data visualization & natural-language interaction.

Time-based media like video, film, animation, VFX, sound, interactive storytelling.
The program is very project- and research-oriented — in labs, studios and interdisciplinary teams.
Facilities & Practice
You’ll benefit from 16 specialised media/computer labs at TH Brandenburg: AV production, motion-capture, VR/MR equipment, video and 3D production setups — along with professional software tools (game engines like Unity/Unreal, 3D suites, video editing, AI tools, etc.).
Projects can include — depending on your focus — web & app development, VR/AR experiences, games, 3D modeling, interactive installations, VFX/animation, motion capture and much more.

With this Master you’re well prepared for creative-tech jobs in fields like UX/UI design, game development, VR/AR, multimedia production, interactive installations, visual effects, digital media studios, or tech-driven start-ups. The field is particularly dynamic in the Berlin-Brandenburg region’s creative + media industry.
Because the program blends technical skills (CS) and creative media/design, you’ll stand out: you can work on both backend/engine development and frontend/user experience/design.
