Against the backdrop of increasing demands on the use of joining technology in the electric powertrain, laser material processing has great application potential.
In the Laser Technology and Cell Technology Center team in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim, we develop and qualify new laser processing methods for applications in battery cells and modules, electric motors and eATS. New ideas and system technology components are tested and further developed in our own application laboratory.
These are some of the challenges you will face:
- Familiarization with the laser welding process and process monitoring incl. system technology
- Definition of the relevant metrics for continuous process monitoring (iterative)
- Data extraction from various sources (image and measurement data) and preparation of the relevant information
- Use of data mining techniques to analyze the image and data sets and identify relevant correlations
- Preparation and visualization of the results
- Development of new approaches for automated evaluation and interpretation of measurement and test data
The final topic and start date will be determined in consultation with the university, you and us.
Qualifikationen- Student in the field of data science, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related technical degree program
- Good basic knowledge of data analysis and machine learning
- Experience with programming languages such as Python
- Independent and goal-oriented way of working
- Confident written and spoken German and English (>=level B2)
- Confident handling of MS Office
- Commitment and ability to work in a team
- Analytical mindset and strategic way of working
- High sense of responsibility for handling high-power lasers
