This challenge awaits you:

Thermal management in modern vehicles is becoming increasingly complex. The wide range of powertrain options – from internal combustion engines to hybrids and electric drives – means that individual settings are required. This diversity makes it increasingly difficult to keep track of all the configurations.

In our team, we keep on top of things and are constantly on the lookout for innovative development tools. This is where your final-year project comes in.

You will continue to develop a tool for the automated generation of various characteristic curves and maps based on extensive data. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are the key technologies used to process these data sets.

Your Tasks:

  • You will familiarise yourself with the existing documentation and research the current state of the art.
  • You will review the existing AI model with a view to implementing an automated application.
  • You will develop further proposals for implementation using additional AI models.
  • You will review and adapt the existing cost function for evaluating the reward.
  • You optimise the model based on the defined cost function.
  • You further develop the tool so that a dataset can be exported at the end.

Necessary Skills:

  • Currently studying computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a similar degree programme
  • Experience in model-based modelling using MATLAB/Simulink
  • Good knowledge of AI methods and programming
  • Ability to work independently and creatively
  • Good command of German and English (minimum B2 level)

  • Ability to work in a team
