Working Student (f/m/d) for Mechanical and Electrical Laboratory/Workshop Support

Job Description Summary: Manufacturing of small mechanical parts and assemblies for demonstrators and test setups.

Our Team:

The Industrial System Innovation team focuses on innovation projects with national and international partners from industry and academia. The team deals with diverse state of the art topics like Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, RISC-V, Secure communication (wired/wireless) networks etc. for industrial automation use cases. All of these technology areas require test, demonstration and measurement setups that are developed and manufactured by the team and external suppliers. The team is now looking for support for the mechanical fabrication of these setups and technology demonstrators, which will be presented at trade shows worldwide.

Your Tasks:

• Mechanical fabrication of simple components or small assemblies

• Setting up measurement and test setups in coordination with the technical project teams

• Repair of returning demonstrators

• Working with industry standard materials such as aluminum, brass, plastics, using common manufacturing methods

• Building and rebuilding small electrical circuits, wire harnesses, and printed circuit boards

Your Profile:

• Student of a bachelor's degree program in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or similar

• Completed vocational training/skilled worker in the field of mechanics or electronics

• Advanced manual dexterity

• Hands-on experience working with conventional machine tools and processes (drill press, mill, lathe, etc.)

• Practical experience in a laboratory or workshop

• Basic knowledge of soldering techniques (circuit board rework, wiring work)

• Creative and innovative way of thinking, ability to work in a team, initiative and independently

• High quality standards for own work

• Preparation of project documentation

• CAD knowledge (AutoCAD-Inventor) is an advantage, but not mandatory
