Reference Code DEHP152024-85674Within the Pre-Development department in the Hospital Care division, we are looking for a student (f/m/d) for an internship starting as soon as possible, with duration of at least 3 months and possibility of subsequent master thesis.

Duties and responsibilities

• You will support the Pre-Development department in the development of new, innovative concepts and functions, working on issues from a wide range of fields in the data engineering and natural sciences. Your focus will be on data science, including working closely with the team on the data platform for the department.
• Your tasks will include data analysis, as well as setting up and managing a SQL database on MS Azure, preparing and loading of data to populate data structures, preparing the data for analysis and further usage (e.g. machine learning).

Professional competencies

• You are a student (f/m/d) in the field of computer science, with strong analytical, data-driven and solution-focused mentality, interested in challenging, interdisciplinary technical issues for material science and medical applications.
• You have initial experience working with databases (ideally SQL and/or databricks), database failovers, setting up APIs and cloud infrastructures. Familiarity with Python and Flask, ETLs (Pandas) and Power BI is particularly of advantage.
• You are confident in dealing with common office applications, coding, dealing with data and data analysis, as well as communication and interacting with users of various backgrounds. You are comfortable working in agile projects.
• Language skills: very good English skills, German skills of advantage.
