At CARIAD, we're bundling and further expanding the Volkswagen Group's software expertise. We’re uniting over 6,500 global experts to build a scalable technology stack, including a software platform, unified electronic architecture and reliable connection to the automotive cloud. Our CARIDIANS are developing vehicle functions such as driver assistance systems, a next-generation infotainment platform, power electronics and charging technology, and digital services in and around the vehicle.
Our software can already be found in Volkswagen ID. models and will soon power Audi and Porsche vehicles with the E3 1.2 platform in 2024.

YOUR TEAM

Our "System Development" team is developing the technical heart of the car, known as "the connected vehicle platform". Our team consists of system developement engineers with technical expertise in many different system areas like diagnostics, OBD, software update etc.. We are crazy about technique and technology and so love to dive into the technical epics within our projects.
Aspects like modern SW platforms and runtime environments from realtime systems to Multiprocessor-linux based platforms , from system base to applications level are our dayly business.
As an intern, you will support us by coming up with innovative ideas based on the analysis and trace capabilities of the software developement process. You get the chance to support us in the following domain areas:  data analytics, test automation implementation and system analytics

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Optimize existing analysis and trace capabilities in a complex technical environment
• Improve the analysis process chain 
• Create detailed specification in UML or other useful notation
• Create detailed test and verification specification
• Cooperate with our software development partners
• Collaborate within our team with the technical experts in the area of crossfunction

WHO YOU ARE

• Enrolled student in the field of computer science, information technology or equivalent field
• Familiarity in software development 
• Knowledge in one of the programming languages:Rust, Java, C/ C++, Python
• Experience in embedded system development like raspberry or arduino would be beneficial. 
• Fluent in English. German would be advantageous
