About this opportunity
At the Ericsson Research branch in Germany, we work with concepts and technologies to shape the future of wireless networks. The research lab is part of a major Ericsson R&D center, located in close vicinity of the historic city of Aachen, Germany, in the heart of Europe. The Ericsson R&D center in Aachen-Herzogenrath is currently offering positions for internship students, with a typical duration of 3 to 6 months.

You’ll get the opportunity to

• Be assigned to an innovative research project, aligned with your individual interests, background, and skills. Our projects cover a very wide range of contemporary topics (some of the examples include but not limited to: advanced industrial testbeds, 6G network of networks, advanced cellular deployment for future critical applications, and in-depth studies about new 6G proposals).
• Help to develop world-leading concepts and solutions for Beyond 5G and 6G wireless access networks and mobile systems which will turn the visions of the Connected Cyber-Physical World into reality.
• Learn to apply tools like lab trials, system level simulations, optimization techniques or mathematical analysis to advance mobile radio networks and new mobile use cases.
• Collaborate with experienced researchers and other students in a truly international team.

Key skills

• Enrolled as Master student in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with an above average record of accomplishment.
• Strong interest in mobile communications.
• Eager to learn, expand as person, being open-minded and creative.
• Very good team working skills.
• Very good computer and programming skills (some examples of tools that students have used in the past but not limited to: Python, Java, C++, or MATLAB, other data processing and visualization tools).
• Knowledge (or interest) in optimization theory, will be considered an advantage.
• Fluency in English.
