Internship in Passive Safety / Pedestrian Protection from August 2024

In Group Research and Mercedes-Benz Cars Development, we are shaping the automobile generations of the future. We are already working today on vehicles that will secure Mercedes-Benz's technological leadership in the future, and vehicle safety is an essential core brand value.

In the area of passive safety pedestrian protection, we are responsible for the development of the pedestrian protection function.

The team evaluates design models with regard to pedestrian protection requirements, develops them using CAE simulations and validates the results in hardware tests for the entire field.

Our goal is to achieve high rating specifications, safe compliance with laws worldwide and compliance with Mercedes-Benz specific requirements for all passenger cars.

These are some of the challenges you will face as a working student:

• Processing technical and organizational tasks in the team environment
• Support with fundamental studies in the area of CAE simulation
• Carrying out benchmark analyses
• Organization of development vehicles as well as their conversion and retrofitting to carry out test series
• Spare parts management including procurement of parts and organization of transport
• Preparation, monitoring and evaluation of internal and external development trials and concept tests
• Maintenance and further development of various development tools and associated instructions
• Carrying out documentation and preparing presentation documents

• Student of mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, aerospace engineering or a comparable course of study
• Confident written and spoken German and English skills
• Enjoy working with people, good communication skills
• Confident handling of MS Office
• Commitment and ability to work in a team
• Analytical mindset and strategic way of working
• Driving license class B
