Working student position in the field of UI/UX design for E/E innovation projects from October 2024

In the Technologies and Architectures department, we are part of the Electrics/Electronics Integration Center within the Quality Management Directorate. As an interface to development and research, our mission is to make the increasing complexity of the electrics and electronics in our vehicles manageable for production and to realize the opportunities of digitalization for the testing and commissioning of vehicles. As part of the "Remote Cloud Testing" project, we are developing, planning and designing the testing system of the future, which will bring the new generations of vehicles onto the road with efficient processes and state-of-the-art technologies.

Become part of our team of around 20 people and specifically support the "UI/UX design and development" work package, in which we use agile UX methods to develop the new display and interaction format for different personas. This includes, in particular, carrying out usability tests with different target groups and planning and conducting creative workshops in order to derive concrete role-specific requirements. In addition, you can contribute your expertise in the design and visualization of modern interfaces, the design and iteration of (click) wireframes based on a design library and a story book and the further development of our front-end apps.

These are some of the challenges you will face:

• Planning and implementation of creative workshops with future users
• Production-related implementation and evaluation of usability tests
• Creating user journeys and deriving requirements for the process, hardware and software
• Development, design and visualization of high-quality and modern interfaces for digital production applications and dashboards including the creation of wireframes and click prototypes with modern design software
• Development and design of a front end in Adobe XD and Illustrator or an app in HTML, CSS and/or React
• Support in the preparation and presentation of design results and developed prototypes
• Developing training concepts for future users of the newly developed apps

• Degree in the field of media informatics, web design, media technology, human factors, UX/UI design or similar
• Confident written and spoken German and English skills
• Confident handling of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), knowledge of UX software e.g. Sketch, Adobe XD, image and video editing (Photoshop) and possibly experience with Java, HTML and CSS or React
• High degree of reliability, proactivity, independence and conscientiousness, strong communication skills and creativity as well as organizational talent and enjoy working in a team
• Basic experience in the UI/UX process
