Bachelor thesis in the field of purchasing from September 2024

The Mercedes-Benz Cars Procurement & Supplier Quality (MP) department is responsible for an annual purchasing volume in the double-digit billion range as well as the quality of purchased parts for all vehicles. In partnership with around 1,500 suppliers in Germany and abroad, the necessary materials are provided for the Mercedes-Benz Cars/Vans production plants worldwide. Locations in Germany, South Africa, China, India, Mexico and Argentina ensure proximity to production. New challenges exist in particular in the areas of autonomous driving, connectivity and alternative drive systems.

These are some of the challenges you will face:

• Getting to know the entire procurement process - from global supplier selection and request for quotation, through bid analyses and evaluations, contract and price negotiations to contract conclusion
• Communicating with international partners, taking on internal and external projects
• Collaboration in current award phases and tenders
• Preparation, coordination and follow-up of internal and external meetings and workshops

The final topic will be determined in consultation with the university, you and us.

• Degree in economics, industrial engineering, engineering or a comparable course of study
• Proficient in written and spoken German and English
• Confident handling of MS Office
• Ability to work independently, commitment and team spirit
• Analytical mindset and strategic way of working
