Compulsory internship in the field of hydraulics testing for automatic transmissions, dual clutch transmissions and eATS from September/October 2024

Transmission development at Mercedes-Benz focuses on the reduction of CO2 emissions coupled with increased performance and comfort. Our "Hydraulic Transmission Control Team" is part of Transmission Development in the Powertrain & Electric Drives Center, which is responsible for the electrohydraulic control of automatic transmissions, dual-clutch transmissions and electric powertrains (eATS). We deal with the conception and design of electrohydraulic control systems and use all common development methods, including simulation and testing on our own test benches as well as on the test benches of affiliated development partners.

Together with software-side function development, we develop and evaluate customer suitability in the vehicle based on the available results. We are also responsible for analyzing and rectifying problems in the field and during new start-ups. In order to develop robust control units, it is essential to test each unit for compliance with the limit values. We use automated test sequences and evaluations for this purpose.

The internship includes the following subtasks:

• Familiarization with the basic functions of an automatic transmission / dual clutch transmission / eATS
• Familiarization with the existing test sequences and evaluations
• Revision of the evaluation in coordination with the test engineers
• Programming automated evaluations of vehicle and test bench measurement results
• Development of test scopes and implementation in coordination with the test engineer
• Documentation and presentation of the tests and analyses

• Degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, automotive engineering or a comparable course of study
• Business fluent in written and spoken German and English
• Confident handling of MS Office, VBS programming language desirable
