Compulsory internship in the field of e-motor process development from October 2024

Are you studying a STEM course and interested in a mandatory internship with a strong connection to electromobility? Do you enjoy working at the interface between pre/development, production and quality?

Then an exciting field in the area of axial flux machines awaits you from October 2024.

We from the process development team for electric drives are part of the planning and production technology center for the drivetrain at the Untertürkheim site and represent the link between pre/development and series production. We provide the latest and most innovative manufacturing technologies in the production environment and ensure the maturity of revolutionary manufacturing processes through to series production. In addition to many manufacturing and metrological issues, our team also deals with further questions from the areas of development and quality. We also develop innovative manufacturing methods and processes for high-quality powertrain applications. As part of a technology project for future drive systems, we are looking for a mandatory intern to start as soon as possible with a focus on the further development of production technologies for axial flux machines.

Your tasks will include

• Literature research in the areas of electromagnetic manufacturing influences of electric drive technology, manufacturing technologies for electric drives, etc.
• Familiarization with the functionality and manufacturing process chain for electric motors
• Development and design of tools and process sequences
• Part and component analyses of active materials (electrical sheets, coils, magnets)
• Optimization of manufacturing influences on the electromagnetic behavior of electric motor components
• Technology development for future manufacturing processes

• Degree in natural sciences, engineering, technology or a comparable course of study with a specialization in electrical engineering, electric drive technology, electromobility, production engineering, or similar.
• Confident written and spoken German and English skills
• Confident handling of MS-Office, CAD, previous knowledge of electromagnetic simulation an advantage, programming knowledge in Matlab/Python/C an advantage
• Technical affinity and enthusiasm for mobility, structured and goal-oriented way of working, analytical skills, committed way of working and strong teamwork skills, high level of communication skills
• Class B driving license

Please note that your internship at this location must have a prescribed mandatory part, so unfortunately no voluntary internship is currently possible.
