By this we mean innovative products with the highest quality and safety standards as well as efficient development processes. We are already working today on vehicles that will secure the Mercedes-Benz Group's technological leadership in the future.

Our "Testing Components & Assemblies - Battery" (RD/EPA) department is responsible for the entire battery testing of all model series at various integration levels. As the "Testing Battery Safety and Mechanics" team, we accompany our all-electric test specimens through the entire safety certification process, from initial concept validation to series release.

We are responsible for the implementation and design of test bench trials and put cells, modules and entire batteries with control units through their paces. In addition to hardware, MB.OS software validation is also an essential test task in the safety environment. On our internal and external test benches in Nabern and, in future, Untertürkheim, we ensure transparency regarding the maturity of the safety concepts and areas of action in the projects.

Parallel to series certifications, we supervise every battery variant for Mercedes passenger car applications and various pre-development projects. Our aim is to test as realistically as possible, to carry out safety assurance and functional testing efficiently and to prepare results in a targeted manner, as well as to expand and utilize our testing expertise in order to help shape the electromobility of the future together with the specialist departments.

As an intern, you will work on the following topics in addition to experiencing our safety tests up close:

  • Designing and developing a measurement system for the simultaneous determination of cell voltage, cell current and cell temperature
  • Optimizing the documentation of all tests in the team
  • Development and adaptation of measurement technology in our environment
  • Supporting the test engineers in their daily work
Qualifikationen

Qualification:

  • Studies with a technical focus (e.g. / electrical engineering / mechatronics), completed basic studies / bachelor's degree
  • Good programming skills in C
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering
  • Very good written and spoken German

Personal skills:

  • Analytical way of thinking and strategic way of working
  • Flexibility and a high degree of commitment
  • High sense of responsibility and quality awareness
  • Good communication skills and enjoy working in a team
  • Driving license class B
