Internship in the Product Quality Development Complete Vehicle team from October 2024

Mercedes-Benz Passenger Car Development offers you the opportunity to get to know your future career field during your studies. As part of your internship at the Sindelfingen site, you will have the chance to familiarize yourself with the processes and structures in vehicle development and to participate in current projects. This will give you a deeper insight into the work of an engineer and an overview of the development of a major automobile manufacturer during your studies. In addition, you will have the opportunity to contribute your ideas and recommend yourself for a career at Mercedes-Benz.

The Product Quality Series team in Vehicle Development has the task of constantly improving the series quality of all vehicle series from the A-Class to the S-Class and the EQ series. To this end, findings from workshops and customer feedback from quality studies are analyzed. Individual customer feedback on the body, chassis, powertrain and electrics is sometimes tracked and measured directly on vehicles. Improvement measures are developed together with the specialist departments, implementation in the vehicle plants is ensured and the effectiveness of the measures is tracked. In addition, a future-oriented app is being developed in the team with an interdisciplinary team of software developers, quality engineers, test engineers and lawyers.

These are some of the challenges you will face:

• As part of your internship, you will independently evaluate customer feedback from quality studies and analyze findings from workshops
• You will organize regular cross-divisional quality committees with the vehicle plants, the quality department, after-sales and development, carry them out and record the results
• You carry out audits on series vehicles and lease returns, evaluate the results and present them in the relevant quality meetings
• By working closely with the team, you will get to know various quality methods and gain initial practical experience in their application
• You accompany the project manager of the app development in the project work and work closely with him/her
• You prepare and participate in project-related and cross-departmental coordination meetings and workshops
• You work on your own task packages and present them in the corresponding project rounds
• You contribute to the preparation of documents for various management levels and document the project status

• You are studying mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, industrial engineering or computer science or a comparable course of study
• You have a good command of written and spoken German and English
• You have a good command of MS Office
• Ideally, you have practical experience in automotive engineering, quality management and/or software development and have already been able to demonstrate this
• You prefer to work in a team, are willing to familiarize yourself with complex contexts and are characterized by an analytical and strategic approach
