Mandatory internship in the Powertrain Purchasing department from October 2024

The Procurement and Supplier Quality Mercedes-Benz Cars and Vans - Powertrain department is responsible for module purchasing and supplier quality for all powertrain components as well as project management for new engine and transmission projects at Mercedes-Benz Cars and Vans. The transition to electromobility in particular presents the division with numerous and exciting challenges.

You will work operationally in a team and gain experience in the entire procurement process as well as in the preparation of purchasing contracts and orders in compliance with the relevant MBAG guidelines and processes for procurement. This includes attending international supplier meetings and negotiations as well as preparing and presenting briefing and decision documents to the module teams and decision-making bodies.

These are some of the challenges you will face:

• Procurement market analyses and benchmark activities
• Developing and implementing global procurement and transformation strategies
• Market inquiries and negotiations with suppliers in accordance with the procurement processes
• Creation of bid comparisons and preparation of decision papers
• Preparation, implementation and evaluation of international supplier meetings, including negotiations and workshops (also with suppliers on site)
• Assisting with current projects, controlling change management and tracking contract management
• Supporting the coordination of purchasing with related departments (strategy, development, quality, logistics, production) and with suppliers

• Degree in (industrial) engineering, economics, business administration or a comparable course of study
• Confident handling of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Confident written and spoken German and English skills
• Analytical way of thinking
• Communication and organizational skills
• Strategic way of working
• Ability to work in a team, motivation and reliability
