The MP division - Mercedes-Benz Procurement and Supplier Quality - is responsible for an annual purchasing volume in the double-digit billion range for all Mercedes-Benz Cars & Vans as well as the quality of purchased parts for all Mercedes-Benz Cars. With the support of almost 1,500 suppliers in Germany and abroad, we supply our global vehicle and powertrain plants with the necessary production materials. We have locations in Germany, South Africa, China, USA, India, Mexico and Argentina.

The "Purchasing for roof systems, mirrors and exterior lighting" team is responsible for purchasing roofs, mirrors, headlights and rear lights for all Mercedes-Benz vehicle classes. We coordinate and negotiate with international suppliers on a daily basis in order to secure the supply chains in the long term. In Purchasing, we constantly analyze the dynamic changes in the market and revise the purchasing and supplier strategy for our components. We place development and series orders and are involved in innovations and new developments right from the start. You can actively support us in this.

As a working student at the Sindelfingen site, you will be responsible for the following tasks, among others:

• Support in the preparation and follow-up of discussions and negotiations with national and international suppliers regarding prices and contract terms
• Preparation of negotiation results, creation of management presentations & visualization of key figures for the preparation of management decisions for contract awards
• Collaboration in the development of negotiation and procurement strategies as well as cross-functional strategy projects at management level
• Creation and review of purchasing contracts and tracking of contract effectiveness
• Development and comparison of various business cases based on forecast quantities
• Organization of workshops, offer presentations and supplier meetings

• Degree program in the field of economics, business administration, industrial engineering or similar
• Confident handling of MS Office
• Confident written and spoken German and English skills
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Initiative and a high sense of responsibility
• High level of commitment and assertiveness
• Analytical and conceptual thinking skills and ability to work independently
