Internship in the field of sustainability in the supply chain from October 2024

The Mercedes-Benz Cars Procurement & Supplier Quality (MP) department is responsible for procurement, quality assurance and the responsible organization of our supply chains. We work in partnership with around 1500 suppliers in Germany and abroad.

Our team:

As part of our team, you will help to ensure that our products and services are procured with social and environmentally friendly aspects in mind. Whether climate protection, resource conservation or human rights in the supply chain: we develop, implement and continuously improve the objectives of our sustainable business strategy as well as processes and standards relating to these topics. Raw materials in general and the supply chains for steel, aluminum and battery materials in particular play a central role in this.

These are some of the tasks you will be assigned:

• Participation in the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights in raw materials supply chains
• Independently working on defined projects, e.g. carrying out risk analyses, implementing measures and monitoring impact
• Implementation of regulatory requirements from LkSG, CSDDD, BatVO etc.
• Collaboration in cross-company and cross-industry sustainability initiatives (e.g. IRMA, Drive Sustainability, RMI)
• Evaluation of suppliers and implementation of procurement requirements in the supply chain
• Preparation of management presentations and training documents
• Research activities
• Independent communication and coordination of issues with other areas in the Group

• Degree course in the field of sustainability management, social sciences, economics, environmental & natural sciences, geosciences
• Proficient in written and spoken German and English
