Working student position in the field of assisted and automated driving certification from October 2024

Vehicle Certification Safety is an international division of Mercedes-Benz Cars with headquarters in Böblingen, which works closely with the markets and the domestic and foreign RD (Research & Development) locations to ensure that all safety-relevant components, systems and cars are approved for sale worldwide.

The portfolio includes

• the operational certification and approval of vehicles and systems
• designing the necessary processes with our partners, in particular the RD and market organizations in North America, China and Japan
• advising our internal customers from development departments in order to ensure the approvability of innovative systems at an early stage of development

The competence of a developer, the ability to work in an analytically structured manner and intercultural cooperation, supplemented by a high sense of responsibility and assertiveness in matters of technical compliance, as well as confidence in dealing with international experts and representatives of authorities are among the unique challenges that characterize certification.

We are looking for a "Working Student Certification Assisted and Autonomous Driving" to support the certification process in the areas of software updates, cybersecurity and autonomous driving.

• Degree in mechatronics, automotive engineering, electrical engineering or a comparable course of study
• Basic knowledge of software processes, use of MS Office applications and a good technical understanding
• Previous knowledge of automotive engineering/electrical engineering/computer science is helpful but not a prerequisite.
• Analytical, strategic and innovative thinking and acting
• Strong goal and result orientation
• Ability to work in a team
• Sense of responsibility
• Structured and independent way of working
