Internship as Financial Analyst in Supplier Risk Management from October 2024

Technological change in the automotive industry, global supply bottlenecks, current geopolitical risks and rising costs for raw materials and energy are currently posing numerous challenges for financial supplier risk management. The Financial Supplier Risk Management team offers you the opportunity to gain exciting insights into this diverse field of activity as part of an internship for at least six months, to take responsibility for task packages and to contribute your expertise.

Our task is to assess the financial stability of Mercedes-Benz AG suppliers and to recognize corporate crises at an early stage. In close consultation with the purchasing departments of Mercedes-Benz AG, we develop suitable measures to ensure the supply of parts to the Group.

You will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Financial risk analyses of the Mercedes-Benz supplier portfolio as well as risk assessment of specific suppliers
• Preparation and creation of detailed business analyses on the basis of profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements with the involvement of external rating agencies to assess the financial situation of suppliers
• Collaboration in the planning, controlling and reporting of special supplier services
• Preparation of special statistical analyses and evaluations for the entire supplier portfolio
• Collaboration in the creation of supplier risk maps to assess suppliers in geographical zones
• Preparation of decision papers for management committees in German and English, as well as active preparation and follow-up of committee meetings
• Participation in supplier meetings (virtual and on-site)

Qualifications:

• Degree in business administration/economics (with specialization in accounting/corporate finance) or a comparable course of study
• First practical experience in the automotive industry, management consulting or auditing desirable
• Knowledge of financial statement analysis and risk management is an advantage
• Very good written and spoken German and English skillsSafe handling of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• High level of commitment and independent working style
• Ability to work in a team
• Analytical way of thinking
