In Group Research & Mercedes-Benz Cars Development (RD), we are working on the cars of the future.

The tendering department is Product Management, which plays an essential central role in the company by managing all the relevant information that makes up a vehicle. This department ensures that all areas - from design and engineering to production and sales - are up to date and can work together seamlessly. This is crucial to ensure the high quality and innovative strength that is expected from Mercedes-Benz.

Our team has a wide range of responsibilities. On the one hand, we are responsible for the end-to-end digitization of vehicle-related master data and ensure its data quality in the development systems. We are looking for student assistants in the field of end-to-end digitization of vehicle-related master data and ensuring their data quality. After appropriate training, you will be able to work on projects and take on your own tasks.

• You will take on important tasks in the area of management and control of company standards.
• You will coach standards supervisors to ensure that they enter the work standards into the systems in a uniform manner and with the correct content
• You support the management of materials, coatings and surfaces that are provided in the CAD system for selection for development
• You check these materials and integrate them into the CAD systems/supplier packages
• You act as a competent contact person for developers responsible for components
• You prepare technical content for management meetings and other presentations in a target group-oriented manner

These are some of the challenges you will face:

• Developing and maintaining an internal intranet site to effectively disseminate information within the company
• Analyzing data and creating appealing reports for management meetings
• Participation and organization of regular meetings with project partners
• Participation in committees and working groups

• Ongoing studies in a relevant field (e.g. engineering, industrial engineering, business psychology, materials science, mechanical engineering or comparable), ideally with a focus on materials, product data management or technical documentation
• Initial experience in dealing with technical norms and standards is desirable
• Interest in and understanding of materials, coatings and surfaces and their application in vehicle development
• Confident handling of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, to create and edit technical reports and presentations
• Basic knowledge of CAD systems (e.g. Siemens NX, CATIA) and product data management software is an advantage
• Experience with CAD systems and Power BI is an advantage
• Very good written and spoken German and English skills to understand and create technical documents and communicate effectively
