Working student position in the area of Digital Product and CAx for VAN.EA from October 2024

In VAN Development (VAN/E), we are designing the VAN Electric Architecture (VAN.EA) - the next generation of Sprinter, V-Class and Vito. Specifically, the "Digital Product and CAx" team is responsible for the data provision process for hardware development data as well as digital mock-up (DMU) methods and processes. In this role, we define milestones in the development process (e.g. the equipment and development status of digital reference vehicles at specific points in time), track their status (e.g. by reviewing the current development data and checking it for completeness, quality and consistency) and create transparency about the degree of target achievement and the measures required to increase it.

We are a highly motivated, nine-strong team that uses its wealth of experience to face the changing challenges of vehicle development together every day. We rely on modern tools and are prepared to question and further develop processes and ourselves so that we can get the best out of the product together with our many stakeholders.

In addition to an appreciative environment and a relaxed working atmosphere, we offer you an insight into the following areas:

• New vehicle development from an overall vehicle perspective: What does a vehicle consist of and how do individual components become a well-rounded overall product that inspires?
• Development project management: How is a development project structured, what are the intermediate steps and how do you know what needs to be done and how far along you are?
• Data-based project management Reporting and decision-making processes up to top management: How do managers find out about the current status of a large project, what are decisions based on and who is involved?

These are some of the challenges you will face:

• Project Management Office Digital Product and CAx: Manage deadlines, create slide sets and minutes and ensure that results are delivered on time
• Further development of PowerBI dashboards: Create transparency in new subject areas through a suitable, appealing presentation of relevant information
• Data analysis of development process metadata: Find starting points for process improvements in the metadata of the development process
• Methodical and operational support in the area of "digital product"

And don't worry: you won't be alone in all this, but will strengthen our existing team with your skills. In particular, you do not need to be familiar with the vehicle development specifics beforehand.

You don't have to be a vehicle technology crack to fit in perfectly with us. What we expect is an interest in the complex vehicle development system, digital skills, a high willingness to learn and a quick grasp of things.

What you bring with you:

• Enrollment at a university or transition phase between Bachelor's & Master's degree program
• Curiosity and willingness to learn
• Professional appearance and target group-oriented communication in German and English
• Confident handling of PowerBI, Excel and PowerPoint
• Data analysis skills are an advantage (e.g. in Excel, PowerBI, Python)
• Strong ability to work in a team
• Independent and autonomous way of working
