The master student in model-based purification development (m/f/d) for Cytiva is responsible for the development and demonstration of new model-based purification process development methods .

This position is part of the Automation, Digital, and Learning Solutions (AD&L) organization and located in Karlsruhe, Germany and will be on-site. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you’ll do

  • Performing research in the field of model-based bioprocess development
  • Develop standardized model calibration strategies for flow-through purification processes
  • Evaluate process risks and scaling strategies
  • Work on case studies for different modes of chromatographic separation and various molecule formats

Who you are

  • Master thesis student in biotechnology, bioprocess/biomedical engineering or related sciences at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)
  • In depth knowledge in laboratory downstream process development, chromatography, resins and protein analytics
  • A solid experience and understanding of mathematic models and physical/chemical fundamentals
  • Proficient in English (oral and writing)

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Mechanistic modeling of chromatography or related separation technologies
