Working student position in the field of driver observation from October 2024

In our team, we develop and are responsible for the Attention Assist assistance system. Attention Assist can warn the driver of severe fatigue, increasing inattention or microsleep by monitoring the driver. The focus of our tasks is on the conception and further development of driver monitoring in the context of future requirements regarding distraction and fatigue.

These are some of the challenges you will face:

• You will assist in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of test series of the driver monitoring system (including driving simulator tests)
• You will help to maintain system engineering artifacts such as the system specifications and test specifications
• You actively participate in the further development of the Matlab toolchain and develop automated data evaluations
• You validate video measurement data by evaluating driver fatigue, microsleep events and distraction detections
• You will be involved in the management, maintenance and updating of our project vehicles, the measurement technology they contain and the measurement data recorded

• You are studying computer science, mechatronics, electrical engineering, industrial engineering or a comparable course of study
• You have a good command of written and spoken German and English
• You are confident in using MS Office
• You are committed and enjoy working independently, but also as part of a team
• You have a quick grasp, as well as an analytical mindset and strategic way of working
• Programming skills and/or experience in Matlab are an advantage
