The Position

For this internship, you will work in the Product Development Medical Affairs (PDMA) Nucleus Team.
The PDMA Nucleus Team works within PD Medical Affairs across molecules and indications as well as across the broader Roche company. We engage in the following areas:
Strategic planning
Data & insights
Business enablement
Organizational Engagement & Enablement
Digital Innovation & Transformation
We incubate ideas, we accelerate solutions across Medical Affairs building on our domain expertise and we partner seamlessly across the organization delivering solutions and projects to further enable Medical Affairs to realize the Roche Vision in a more impactful and efficient way.
Objectives and Responsibilities across the 3 positions
Supporting cross functional teams within the organization with regard to Strategic Planning, and Data & Insights
Gain hands-on experience in the field and contribution in an international and multicultural environment
Data management of key data repositories, implemented in various products used across PDMA and other functions
Business Enablement with regard to skill development
Working closely with the Strategic Planning Team to create a holistic view of current Medical Affairs activity surrounding current Integrated Evidence Plans, through the population and development of data systems
Digital Innovation - Support, maintenance and communication
Data analysis and reporting for Clinical Trials-related information regarding Strategic Country, Selection, Budgets, Timelines and Study placement by countries
Provide support and lead internal communication, data curation and portfolio analytics, development of surveys, gSite creation, insight generation
Position I. Product Development Medical Affairs Nucleus - focus on Data & Analytics, Strategic Planning, and Organizational Management. (preferred start date: 1st March 2025)
The role
This position will focus predominantly on Strategic Planning, Data & Insights, Organizational Engagement & Enablement, Digital Innovation & Transformation.
Role specific responsibilities
Cooperation with the IT development team to bolster ideas and promote development of digital products
Ad hoc reporting on Investment, Evidence Generation and related topics

Maintenance and management of structural organizational charts pertaining to the internal structure of the PDMA organization including work to accurately reflect
Structure and skills across PDMA
Accurate FTE reporting
Optimizing customer experience
Point of contact for external departments using system
Position II. Product Development Medical Affairs Nucleus focus on Business Enabling/Competency Development and Strategic Planning. (preferred start date: as soon as possible)
The role
You will have a blended role with a 50% focus on Business Enablement with regard to Competency Development and 50% in Strategic Planning, Data & Insights and Digital Innovation.
Role specific responsibilities
Support the PDMA Business Enabling Leaders in the analysis, design and implementation of learning paths and ongoing Capability Building projects and offerings
Design and deliver trainings in areas such as creative problem solving, storytelling and critical thinking
Organize learning events in terms of planning, logistics and evaluation
Primary point of contact for participants
Engage with external supporting vendors
Position III. Product Development Medical Affairs Nucleus focus on Business Enabling/Leadership Development and Strategic Planning (preferred start date: 1st March 2025)
The role
You will have a blended role with a 50% focus on Business Enablement with regard to Leadership Development and 50% in Strategic Planning, Data & Insights and Digital Innovation.
Role specific responsibilities
Leadership program management:
Develop communication strategy
Primary point of contact for participants
Support content creation
Enable and facilitate the selection process
Engage with external supporting vendor
Organize events and workshops
Who you are - applicable for all 3 roles:
You are currently enrolled at university (Bachelor/Master), or you finished your studies in the last 12 months, ideally in the field of Life Sciences, Business Administration, Psychology or related area
You are open-minded, flexible and creative with a can-do attitude
You are a team player with strong communication, self-reflection and assertiveness skills
You have project management and analytical skills
You are self-organized and proactive
You have an interest in data management and analytics
You are fluent in spoken and written English
Ideally you also have the following experience, skills and knowledge:
Work experience, preferably in an international business environment
General understanding and interest in pharmaceutical industry
Advanced knowledge in Google Apps Suite
The position is based in Basel (on-site). The preferred start date of the internship is indicated next to the positions above. The duration is 12 months.
This position is also suitable for candidates who are required to undertake a mandatory 12 month internship as part of their studies.
This internship is not suitable for a Master's thesis.
