Within BayWa r.e.’s Operations Business, we maintain and operate an asset fleet of more than 10GW of Wind, PV & BESS installations globally. We service these assets with 800+ technical and commercial colleagues, organized in local country organizations in our different markets. Our focus is to optimize the performance and longevity of each asset while ensuring the safety of our people, for both our internal and external customers. Within Operations Business
Segment, BayWa r.e. Data Services GmbH is expanding its offerings in the fields of data acquisition, SCADA services, 24/7 monitoring and data utilization as a foundation for safe operations and optimized asset performance, as well as for providing employees and customers with the best data base for adopting digital solutions.
We are currently looking for a Working Student in Data Engineering (m/f/d) to join our team. This role is perfect for students eager to dive into data technologies within the renewable energy sector.
About the role

As a Working Student in Data Engineering (m/f/d) you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a dynamic, innovative environment where your contributions directly impact our customers' operational excellence. You’ll play a key role in building and refining data products that automate processes and drive business success.
What You Will Do
You will be supporting for processing and preparing solar, batterie storage and wind park data in our Microsoft Azure Cloud and Databricks data platform.
You will drive the integration of new dataset and support the enforcement of their data quality.
You will further develop the needs-based automated data pipeline using ETL/ELT processes to provide data to machine learning and data analytics experts.
You will perform refactoring tasks according to software engineering best practices to ensure performance, reusability, and scalability of code.
You will support the setup and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and manage version control using Git.
You will collaborate, learn and be part of a cutting-edge data tech stack and gain insights from experienced full-stack data colleagues.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
You are enrolled in an advanced degree program with a focus on computer science, software, or data engineering.
You are proficient in Python and SQL and you have basic knowledge in DevOps concepts and git.
Your affinity for Data and your interest in Data Processing and Data Technologies distinguishes you.
You have a first experience with cloud services such as Microsoft Azure and structured database.
Good communication skills in English
