What you'll do
Legal Research & Analysis
- Conduct legal research on topics including civil, consumer protection and administrative law, data protection and financial services regulation
- Prepare summaries and memos on legal issues and recent legislative changes affecting derivatives trading and fintech innovation
- Monitor and analyze relevant case law, regulatory guidance from BaFin (Federal Financial Supervisory Authority), ESMA, ECB, and other regulatory bodies
- Research compliance requirements under MiFID II, EMIR, MAR, KWG, WpHG, DORA, and other relevant financial and technology regulations
- Stay informed about emerging regulations related to digital finance, blockchain technology, and algorithmic trading
Contract Management
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and organizing contracts such as customer contracts, vendor agreements, non-disclosure agreements
- Support contract lifecycle management processes for both financial products and technology services
- Review and organize terms and conditions for derivative products, trading platforms, and digital service
Administrative Support
- Organize and maintain legal files and documentation systems
- Prepare presentations and meeting materials for the legal team
- Coordinate with external counsel, financial regulators, technology partners, and service providers when needed
- Support the team with general administrative tasks
Corporate Secretarial Support
- Assist in the preparation of board and committee meeting materials, agendas, and presentations
- Support the organization and logistics of board meetingsand shareholder meetings
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of resolutions
- Assist with regulatory filings and submissions to commercial registers and supervisory authorities including coordination with external counsel and notary public
- Assist in maintaining corporate records for the company and its subsidiaries
- Support the administration of powers of attorney and signatory authorizations
What you'll need for this role
Key Qualification Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Currently enrolled in a law program (LLB, State Examination, or equivalent) with at least 3-4 completed semesters
- Strong academic performance, ideally with coursework or interest in banking law, capital markets law, financial regulation, or technology law
- Previous internship or work experience in a legal or compliance environment, preferably in financial services, fintech, or derivatives trading, is a plus
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent research and analytical skills, particularly in interpreting complex financial and technology regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities in German and English (at least C1)
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
