For our Research Management team at the Leipzig site, we are looking for a student assistant to start as soon as possible. The team, working closely with our scientists, is responsible for the strategic planning and development of the institute’s two business areas - Immuno-Oncology and Infectious Disease Pathology - as well as for acquiring public funding. In addition, the management of EU projects and large-scale strategic projects is a key part of research management activities.
Be part of change
- As a student assistant, you will support a variety of projects and day-to-day operations within research management.
- You will investigate topics such as funding programs, new technologies, industry trends, and markets in the field of biomedical research.
- While working intensively on those topics and large projects, you will systematically gather information and evaluate ways to present it concisely, e.g., for grant applications, presentations, and meetings.
- You will also assist with the organization, preparation, and execution of events.
What you contribute
- Enrollment as a student in the life sciences (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Medicine, Pharmacy) or in economics/business studies
- Strong interest in research transfer and commercialization activities within the life sciences
- Ideally, first experience in event organization, but this is not mandatory
- Proficient skills in MS Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Very good written and spoken German and English
- You enjoy contributing your own ideas, appreciate diverse tasks, and do not shy away from day-to-day administrative duties. You work in a structured manner and can systematically prepare and present information for different audiences. You value interaction with people and communicate in a service- and solution-oriented way.

The position is initially limited to one year; however, longer-term employment is intended. Weekly working hours can be arranged according to your preference, between 10 and 20 hours per week.
