Final thesis / internship - Automated test case recognition based on vehicle measurement data
______
Students — Thesis; Internship
Heimsheim
This challenge awaits you:
The requirements for vehicle safety from laws, standards and consumer protection continue to increase. The number of tests to be carried out for the emergency braking function during function integration and validation is increasing. More testing produced more data. In order to be able to handle large amounts of data, we already use semi-automated evaluation methods. At this point we need your support. The labeling of the data is partially automated and is potentially subject to errors due to manual entries. Incorrect assignments of measurement data and test cases result in errors in the evaluation. In order to prevent incorrect labeling of measurement data, the test case should be automatically recognized from the measurement data, for example using artificial intelligence (AI).
Your Tasks:
You will familiarize yourself with the existing tool chain and the emergency braking function.
You evaluate and present potential technologies and methods as a solution to the task.
You familiarize yourself with the measurement methods and data.
You get an overview of the test scenarios. You select suitable features that are important for identifying the test case.
You prepare measurement data for further processing (e.g. extracting relevant signals and labeling).
You will develop the methodology for automated test case detection so that it can support our daily work in the team.
Necessary Skills:
Ongoing studies in the field of computer science, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automotive engineering, or a comparable (natural science) course of study
Sound knowledge of statistics and machine learning as well as initial experience with ML libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch
Initial experience in software development and programming knowledge (preferably Python)
Willingness and comprehension to acquire new skills
High level of initiative and creativity
Teamwork and open-mindedness
Fluent English and German skills
Desired Skills:
Very good communication skills
Enthusiasm for the field of driver assistance systems
Practical experience with versioning tools (preferably Git)
theoretical expertise in the field of driver assistance systems
Driving license class B
