With two strong locations in Bremen and Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich and more than 40 years of experience, OHB System AG specialises in high-tech solutions for space. These include low-orbiting and geostationary satellites for Earth observation, navigation, telecommunications, science and space exploration as well as systems for human space flight and aerial reconnaissance. We owe our success to our employees' passion for innovation, as well as their commitment and initiative.
For temporary employment of 6 monthsOHB System AG in Bremen is looking for a
Internship (m/f/d) Contamination modelling
Your Tasks
During satellite design,
environmental impacts must be taken into account to build a robust and reliable
spacecraft. A satellite is exposed to a manifold of potentially mission
critical threads. A crucial aspect of mission success is the in-orbit
contamination of the satellite due to outgassing. All materials have a certain
mass fraction of ejectable molecules, leaving the bulk material due to
diffusion and desorption. These molecules can stick to sensitive surfaces, such
as optical instruments, solar arrays, radiators, and antennas and reduce the
functionality or in a worst case, lead to failure of the system. Therefore, an
analysis of contamination due to outgassing is mandatory during satellite
design to deduce design requirements for the reduction of contamination of the
sensitive items.
Currently, the Environment
Analysis Team at OHB is developing a simulation tool, which allows the
calculation of contamination due to outgassing. For that purpose, we are
looking for an intern, supporting us with this task.
So, are you ready to be part of our team and develop openContam?
